Currently celebrating a quarter-century in radio, Yirong Dai started in 1993 as a co-host of Joy FM Hong Kong alongside current Voice of America host Larry London. She then became host of Golden Hits on Chinese National Radio in Beijing between 1994-1996 before seguing to Sydney, Australia as co-host of Easy FM in 1997.

In October 2002 Dai returned to China as founder and Channel Director of Hit FM 88.7 for China Radio International in Beijing, a position she held for the next decade. In August 2012 she became Music Director of Chinese Service for China Radio International, a position she held for two years before founding and channel directing Metro Radio Beijing in October 2014, where she remains to this day.
